R.E : Advent Poster

For Advent we had to create a nativity scene.
Above is by piece of art. We also had to
make three prayers, One for ourselves, One for New Zealand and the Last one for the World.

Here are my prayers:
Personal Prayer -
Heavenly Father, I ask that you bless my family and I as we enter this festive season. I also ask that you look after my sick uncle, and his family.
Amen

My New Zealand Prayer -
God of love, I ask that you bless those who are struggling with money, and bill's. I also ask that you guide our school and parish in the right path.
Amen

My World Prayer -
Loving God, I ask that you less those who are in war. I also ask that you watch over those who are sick and those are in poverty.
Amen

Biscuit Decorating Experience :)

Today we experienced decorating  biscuits with our soul friends. I thought it was quite fun and, a interesting way to spend time with our soul friends. I've never felt so close to my soul friend, because we hardly spend time together. There were alot of interesting decorations. I enjoyed spending time with my soul friend, and working as a team.

I was lucky enough to be going to Piha Mill Camp. It was so much fun. From our camp I've learnt alot of things. We did Slack-lining  Poles and Planks, Archery & Orienteering  My favourite activity was the Slack-lining. At first I was very shy and scared, but I built my confidence.  I've also seen alot of beautiful sights. We went to see the Waterfall, and Piha Beach. I can't describe how  beautiful it is, I was just speechless.
Overall I enjoyed my experiance at Piha Mill Camp, and wish to go back:)

The Roots : Message In A Bottle

The Roots: Message in a Bottle
Saint Pius X School was chosen to be part of a
project. Every class had to create a piece of art. As a class we had to figure out how to put our art into the bottle. It was quite a challenge. Room 7 had to create a spiral, on that spiral we had to state our hopes and desires for Christmas.

It was fun working in teams , and
participating in particular areas. Our art work is going to be displayed at the Water Front, in town.
With the help of Alice, Petelo and Aunty Tina we completed our design/project. I am proud of what we produced.

Communion of Saints: St. Anthony of Abbot & St. Gerard Majella

TASK: - go online and search for Catholic Saints.

             Choose 2 saints or people and read about them.

Share your understanding of them in a creative way using the appropriate  app.  Be creative but the important thing is to share information about their life.   What they did that showed their love for God.

NB;  CHECK THAT THE IMAGES ARE LEGAL TO USE.  REMEMBER OUR SMART LEGAL.

THIS IS ALSO A READING ACTIVITY - WHAT IS THE MAIN IDEA OR IMPORTANT INFORMATION.

I choose, Saint Gerard Majella & Saint Anthony of Abbot:)

I choose these to Saints because I thought it would be interesting learning, about these Saints. I don’t know much about Saint Gerard Majella & Saint Anthony of Abbot. That’s why I choose them. Saint Gerard Majella is the patron Saint of Childbirth. Saint Anthony of Abbot is the patron Saint of Skin Diseases. I pray to Saint Anthony of Abbot to heal my skin, And I pray to Saint Gerard Majella to help those in labour.

Home Is Special To Me !!!

My Ideas:

* Home is special to me because it is where I was raised
* Home is special to me because it’s where my Family & I live
* Home is special to me because it’s where family gatherings and celebrations are held
* Home is special to me because it’s where history in my family is been made

Homes are places where children are raised. Homes are where we are taught the importance of life. For me home is my tree. It holds all of my memories and treasures. I wouldn't imagine living without a home!

First of all my home is special to me, because it’s where my family has gatherings and celebrations. There are a lot of cheerful and bad memories at home. All of my sisters have been raised in my home. That’s why it’s special to me. There were a lot of celebrations held in my home. A lot of birthdays and baptism parties. Home is special to me because, it’s where my cousin was  raised as well.

Second of all home is special to me because it’s where I live. Without a home I wouldn’t be the person I am today. I would be on the street begging for money, thank God I have a home. Another reason why home is special to me because it’s where my memories are safe.

In addition to this, My  home is special because it’s where I learn.  I’ve learnt a lot of life lessons at home, without that I wouldn't be able to survive. I think that it’s very important to  have a home.

Therefore My home is special to me because it’s where I live!!!

Term 3 Reflection

As my teacher said, term 3 would be the most
full on term. She was right. There was alot to work on, for the year is nearly over. We had alot of events during Term 3, like the Cross Country. It's draining not being able to achieve all my goals, but that's what school's are for. I've learnt alot from this Term. I've learnt more about Fractions (which now I get), I learnt more about Negative and Positive numbers, and I've learnt more Life Lesson's  I'm thankful for this term, for it has turned my learning around. I hope I'm ready for the last term:)

Gospel Teaching: Google Draw

The Parable of the Two Sons.pngThis title page is based on the gospel Matthew 21:28-32. It displays the story of the Parable of the two sons. From this gospel I've learnt that respecting your parents or elders is very important.

Diorama Evaluation - Jane's Group

Our pros and cons:

Pros:
We worked well-enough to complete our diagram, and we managed to clean up our mistakes, and weave our ideas together like a team should. We really work together, we had no problems. We may have our differences, but that didn't stop us. We are proud of our drawings of the cows and painting of our paddocks.

Cons:
We struggled in putting  more inputs into our Diorama, But we didn't have time. We  also struggled with our time. Time was our  biggest problem!!

My Reflection:
I think that our Diorama was okay. It's good for what it is but , it can be better! We could of put more inputs in. But from the past 4 weeks I've enjoyed cutting & painting. But most of all I enjoyed working together with Jane and Siniva. Without there help I wouldn't be able to finish it. I'm thankful that we got to finish it:)

Here is our Diorama :

photo.JPG
The inputs are the things in the farm. Example a cow lives in a farm
Inputs:
* Tractor
* Road
* Grass
* Cows
* Shearing Shed
* Sheep

My Speech : Nature

Statement:
Have you got a precious gift? I bet you treasure it and look after it. There is a precious gift that is given to you and me. We have a responsibility to look after it.
Introduction-
Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.  Have any of you been to Long Bay Beach.  Do you enjoy walking along the sandy surface.  Have you enjoyed watching a beautiful sunrise or sunset where you see the rays of the sun creeping through the clouds or reflecting on the water.  How about a beautiful flower in your garden at home.  How about watching a beautiful butterfly flapping away amongst the bushes.  Do you ever listen to the birds singing outside or the cricket’s .  ALL THESE BEAUTIFUL THINGS ARE CALLED A GIFT FROM NATURE.  what about them? Well listen up.
Body-
Whenever you go to a rugby game, do you watch them as they tackle and slide. Well if you think It’s kind of like they’re kissing the grass. Kissing Mother nature. In the Maori  tradition, the first parents were the gods Ranginui the sky father, and Papatūānuku the Earth Mother. We are all buried in Papatuanuku. We are fed by Ranginui.
If you think about,  when it rains it’s like Ranginui is crying. Crying on his beloved wife, Papatuanuku. Those tears are turn into food. As a society we should be looking after all these precious gifts.. Flowers, Food, Trees and our Shore Lines. We should be giving Mother Nature the same love and affection, she gives us.

Ending-
Have you ever touched the dirt, thinking that one day you’ll become dirt. Have you ever been to a funeral. Seeing the graves of dead people, thinking one day you’ll be in a grave as well.  Whenever I think of nature this comes to my head. I see trees of green, Red roses too. I see them bloom for me and for you. I see skies of blue  and clouds of white, The bright blessed day and dark sacred night.
Thank You!!!

12.09.14 Different People
There are different people in the world. Annoying, Depressed and Insecure people. I don’t really like people who are mean. TBH ( To be Honest) I see myself as a mean person. Being mean is like getting a slapped in the face. I don’t like being mean. I also don’t like people who bully.
