This morning we had talked about the choices that we make. We talked about how it can affect other people, And how it makes a big impact on our lives. Our task was to display the vocabulary we had learnt in a creative way. I hope you learn something from my poster:)

Dear Almighty Father

I thank you for watching over my family and close friends. I also thank you for guiding me in making the right choice. I ask you to watch over my Grandfather in your heavenly kingdom. I also ask you to watch over my uncle.

When we see something like that- it is a sacramental moment.  We see something and it prompts us to think of God.

Lectio Divina - Traditional Prayer

Today I learnt about Lectio Divina. Lectio Divina is a Prayerful Reading. Lectio Divina is a traditional prayer. This prayer fascinates me, because I've never prayered it.

In response to this, here is my prayer:

Dear God,

You want us to clothe ourselves with Patience. Please help me to be Patience with others.

Amen.

At church I use my taonga of, Singing. I’m not a good singer but I try my best to. Reader, I’m not as confident as anyone else is, but I try to use my gift as much as I can.

Last but not least Listening,  I’m not the best in Maths or Physical Education but I use my gift of listening at church.

Te Atua has blessed me with  the taoga  of playing the ukulele. I love to teach the young tamariki & seeing their little  faces as I strum the delicate strings. I thank Te Atua for   manaaki me with this taoga.

Deborah Presentation

In Room 7 we  had to create a presentation, on 

a person of the following. Deborah, Solomon & Isaiah. I chose Deborah because I don't know that much about her. I hope you learn something from this presentation, as for I did.

Holy Spirit Strand

 In Room 7, we are  learning about The Holy Spirit for the next 5 weeks. 

Our learning intention for this week is to find out, how the Holy Spirit works in people in the Old Testament. 

First we had to brainstorm on what we know about the Holy Spirit. 

Here is my Brainstorm. My next step is to know more scriptures about the Holy Spirit.

The Easter Vigil

The Easter Vigil is the last mass for Holy Week.

The mass is split into four parts.  The mass starts outside.  The Service of Light, Liturgy of the Word, Liturgy of Baptism, & The Liturgy of the Eucharist.

The Service of Light:

The atmosphere of the Church is different, the lights are out and the Holy Water is drained. The service begins outside, A new fire is lit and blessed.

Liturgy of the Word:

During the Easter Vigil, nine readings are provided. Seven from the old testament and two from the new testament. These readings help us to meditate on the beautiful creations God has provided us.  

Liturgy of Baptism:

During this time of Easter and  the water is blessed, New members are brought into Church through baptism.

The Liturgy of Eucharist:

The mass goes on with the Eucharist, as usual. The bread & wine is blessed. And we receive the body and blood of Christ.

• Palm Sunday - Palm Sunday is when we celebrate the coming of Jesus.

• Chrism Mass - The mass of Chrism is taken place on Holy Thursday. On Holy Thursday morning the bishop,

joined by the priests of the diocese, gather at the Cathedral to celebrate the Chrism Mass

• Holy Thursday -  Holy Thursday is when

we catholics celebrate the Jewish Passover. It was when

Jesus had his last meal with his disciples  

• Good Friday - Good Friday is when we celebrate

The death of Jesus. We remember Jesus as he journeyed to his death.

• Easter Vigil  -  The easter Vigil is a service held in catholic churches, We celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus  .

Answers:

• Prayer to me is communicating with God in my own way, even if it means praying in the car. Prayer is reflecting on something.
• I personally pray by singing or reading the bible. Sometimes I talk to God about all of my problems, and issues.
• There are alot of ways for praying such as, Singing, Dancing, Talking , Reflecting, Asking, or Praising
• What stops me from praying is when I’m too busy, tired or distracted by something
